According to their website as of December 2008, food is served 7am-10pm every day. The [http://www.brookgreenhotel.co.uk/menu.php?menu=4350 menu] on the website shows starters around £4-5, and most mains around £7.50-10 (with some up to £13).
Food served noon-3pm, 6pm-10pm Mon-Fri and all day Sat-Sun. Most main courses are around £7-9, with some up to £13; see the [http://www.brookgreenhotel.co.uk/food.htm menu] on their website. Starters are also available at £5-6.

On [[Martin]]'s visit in June 2007, the menu had a lot more options than were listed on the website. (The website prices appeared to be accurate for the dishes shown.) The "21 day aged Scotch rib-eye steak" (£12.90) was excellent (cooked as requested, with a very tasty peppercorn sauce), as was the "sauteed cornfed chicken" in "mushroom, garlic and herb cream sauce" (£10). The quality and standard of presentation of the food both seemed to be aiming for the "hotel" rather than "pub" level. Considering the number of places that charge £11 or so for an overcooked piece of low-quality steak, £13 did not seem unreasonable for the quality of this offering. Beer was standard Young's fare, but was well kept.
It has a courtyard-style beer garden which is available for private hire, and includes a smoking area "with umbrellas".

The courtyard-style beer garden is available for private hire, and includes a smoking area "with umbrellas". According to an anonymous commenter (Dec 2008), the cellar bar is also available for private hire; it has its own entrance and toilets, and you can plug an i-pod into their sound system. It does cost £150 though.
