Situated in a large cellar on City Road the Bavarian Beerhouse does provide a relatively authentic German experience. They have several german beers and serve german food.
The Wurstplattes are good but not as large as they used to be. (£9.50 and £11.50). The Pork Shank is very large (£13.50) The Erdinger Dunkel was very drinkable (£6.90 for a litre)
On a saturday afternoon it was full of Germans watching Football on a large screen. They were tucked away though. This lead to slightly slow service at times but still quite friendly.
If going as a large group there will be lots of faff with setting up individual tabs which can take some of the joy out of it.
