Pub in [[Locale Upper Belvedere|Upper Belvedere]].
This has had a total refurbishment and reopened (albeit with some work left to do) on July 7th 2007. The former "rustic plastering" and ancient carpet has been replaced by a much more modern and up-market decor of light wood flooring, half panelled walls and comfy chairs as opposed to the ancient velour bench seating it had before. The pool table is still there but has been moved to the back of the pub to a space made by moving the lavatories and opening the door to the back yard.

Entry is into a low-ceilinged space broken up by a couple of pillars just in front of the wooden-gantried bar. Worn bare boards are underfoot. Art deco light fittings add a touch of style, and the pale wood half-panelling on the walls is clearly intended to do the same.
Despite the style of the refurbishment it still retains the character of a local pub to a large extent.

Varnished wooden tables are arranged around the walls, flanked by somewhat battered-looking red and black pleather half-round chairs. Tall stools line the bar and cluster next to even-taller tables set next to the pillars. Beyond the bar, past a couple of fruit machines and a neon Bud Light sign, a pool table and dart board stand in their own space. There's a part-covered patio beer garden out the back.

[[Kake]] visited on a Thursday afternoon in March 2018. There was just one other customer when I arrived a little after 2pm. No music was playing, but the flatscreen was showing Sky Sports with the sound on.

They don't do real ale, but there were keg taps for Birra Moretti, John Smith Extra Smooth, Shepherd Neame Whitstable Bay, and other things. A half of lime and soda was 50p.

Accessibility: Step-free to get in at the corner entrance. No steps to the toilets, including an accessible one.
