Randomness Guide to London - Differences between Version 16 and Version 8 of InSpiral Lounge, NW1 8QS

Version 16 Version 8

InSpiral Lounge was a vegetarian cafe right by the canal in Camden Town. It closed down in January 2016, but was immediately replaced by another vegetarian cafe under a different name (Camden Canal Cafe) and different management.
Very nice veggie/vegan cafe right by the canal in Camden Town. Run by the IDSpiral people who do chillout at Glastonbury, Glade, and various raves. Really relaxed atmosphere, nice sofas, good food, and a lovely view over the canal through the enormous windows at the back.

The information below is retained for historical purposes.
They have various juices and smoothies available, and also have an alcohol license (organic? wine, hemp beer, a couple of other bottled things, not sure about spirits). The food is hot and cold buffet - £5 for a small plate (3 choices), £6 for a medium one (4 choices), £7 for a large one (5 choices, plenty enough for dinner). They usually have about 5 hot and 5 cold (salad-type) options - all veggie, most vegan. There's also various cakes and raw chocolate ball sweeties. Everything I've had there has been excellent (Juliet). All the cakes are vegan (November 2008).

Comment added by Anonymous: I went to the inSpiral lounge the other day after a hectic day of shopping in busy Camden and found the place an oasis of peace and friendliness. Staff were very helpful and before I knew it I was munching on some seriously yummy food. I had one of their raw nut burgers with tomato sauce topping - so good - with a selection of crunchy salads. To go with it I chose one of their home made cups of chai, which I got offered with either soya or rice milk - and to make it even more exciting agave or yacon syrup for sweeteners. That did it for me - I had to try their raw chocolate tart - wow - what a treat. I spent just over £10 for all of this which I thought was well worth the money. I hung out a bit cause you get free wifi as a customer and ended up meeting some very interesting people. After looking at their program I realized that they do all sorts of events in the Lounge - so one day soon I am going to check them out at night - not least to try one of their 100% organic cocktails...

An anonymous commenter on this page tells us that they visited around the start of 2009 and had a raw nut burger with tomato topping, a selection of crunchy salads, a raw chocolate tart, and a home-made cup of chai (soya or rice milk options, plus agave or yacon syrup for sweetening); this came to just over £10.
