An African restaurant and takeaway on the Old Kent Road near the junction with East Street.
It specialises in suya, a kind of African kebab from northern Nigeria. The restaurant and takeaway have separate entrances.
The suya are available in different meats — chicken, lamb, beef, goat, gizzard, kidney and some others. They are served with tomato, raw onion and sprinkled with "pepper" to taste. They don't come with bread.
secretlondon went to the takeaway section one Friday evening in January 2009. I had a stick of chicken suya (£4) and a stick of beef suya (£4) photo. This was probably too much. They sell non-suya Nigerian food such as jollof rice and a variety of meats, and a selection of soups with boiled yam etc. My beef was quite dry (jerky style maybe?) but my chicken was nice. I had too much pepper which drowned the flavour a bit.
