Good Beer Guide pub in Winchmore Hill.
Kake, James, Ewan, and Alison visited on a Saturday lunchtime in December 2008. The four handpumps on the bar offered Greene King IPA, Old Speckled Hen, Rocking Rudolph (£2.80), and Party Popper (£2.45). Pork scratchings were 80p.
The food on Saturdays is limited to sandwiches (all priced around £3-3.50), toasted if you like, and chips. Between us we had chicken tikka, sausage and onion, and cheese (the sole vegetarian option). The fillings were generously proportioned, in the case of the chicken tikka almost too much for the bread (standard squashy sliced white) to handle photo. Nothing special, but perfectly fine for a sandwich in a pub.
Service was very friendly and welcoming.
Accessibility: Shallow step up to get in. Everything's on the same level once you're in, but the door to the ladies' has a very strong spring and a tendency to thump closed on you if you're not careful.
