Nigerian restaurant on the Old Kent Road in Peckham.
There are three dining areas, with sliding doors which can be used to separate them off. Decor is in shades of brown and cream, with subtly-carved woodwork and African art here and there. Wine glasses, cutlery, and napkins sit ready on the tables. Giant spherical lampshades overhead seem mostly for show, with the actual lighting provided by recessed spotlights. Occasional incongruencies such as a heavily worn and torn banquette seat strike an odd note among the generally fairly upmarket decor.
When Kake visited for a takeaway on a Tuesday lunchtime in May 2019, there was just one other customer, who like me was waiting for a takeaway. Music was playing, quite loud. Service was fine.
Accessibility: No steps to get in, and none to the toilets or most of the seating.
