Reasonably priced yakitori restaurant in the Oxo Tower.
Serves a wide range of authentic yakitori and kushiyaki, including bits of a chicken (and other animals) that are not often seen on a skewer in the west. Prices per skewer start from about £1.50 and go up to about £2.50 and Billy's estimate is that you are looking at about £6-10 for a meal. They also do a range of side dishes to accompany the skewers.
Kake visited on a Sunday evening just before Christmas 2007. We paid £40 each, but that did include quite a lot of sake (if I've calculated right, the food part was just over £16/person for six skewers each, a bowl of rice each, and a shared dessert). I'd take slight issue with Billy's estimate of only £6-10 for a meal - I'd say you want at least six skewers plus rice, which puts you over a tenner already even if you choose the cheapest options and don't drink any tea or sake.
The kitchen is open-plan, so you can watch the chefs grilling your skewers.
