Pub in Mitcham.
It's a traditional-style locals' pub, with the seating area wrapped tightly arond the bar. Two flatscreens are mounted around the pub, and there's also a fruit machine, dartboard, and jukebox. There's a paved garden to the side of the pub, with flower displays in raised beds and hanging baskets.
Kake, bob, and Richard visited on a Saturday afternoon in September 2012. There were three real ales on handpull: Young's Bitter (£2.80/pint), Doom Bar, and Timothy Taylor Landlord. They also had some other real ales in bottles. A pint of lime and soda was £1.30.
There were quite a few people in when we arrived around 2pm, including at least one child, most of them clustered around the bar. There were bowls of savoury snacks (and possibly roast potatoes) out on the bar. No music was playing, but the flatscreens were showing Paralympics coverage with the sound on (this was turned over to the horse-racing during our visit, at the request of one of the other customers).
According to the 2013 Good Beer Guide, children and dogs are welcome; also, there are live acoustic performances every other Friday.
Accessibility: No steps to get in, and once you're in it's step-free to the bar, seating, ladies', and gents'. There's a step to the beer garden. The pub is fairly small, without much room to manoeuvre, particularly when people are crowded around the bar. The ladies' has fairly large cubicles, one of them with grab bars, though the toilet chain is anchored high up and too short to pull from a wheelchair.
