A locals' pub on the Chelsea borders, just south of Sloane Square Station.
This is an odd pub given the area, with the look of an estate pub and the feel of a proper local boozer. Sport on the TV and sports shirts on many of the customers (in fact, an entire sports team arrived at one point on our July 2008 visit), a pool table at the back, and regulars propped along the bar.
Having said that, sometimes that's exactly what's needed, and the place seemed oddly comforting when given the options of Sloane Square's noisy style bars and French-style brasseries. It also had space for our group to sit down while the rain fell outside.
There are a couple of ales on hamdpump (Spitfire and Bombardier), and far more lagers.
Thai food is served from 6pm-10pm Monday to Saturday, and 1pm-9pm Sunday, and several plates were seen coming from the kitchen on our short visit.
There are a number of tables under canopies out the front.
