Momo And Roti, TW3 1NP

Nepalese restaurant in Hounslow.

It has a fairly casual style. Pale wooden chairs provide seating for around 35 people at matching pale wood-effect tables. Walls are a cheerful yellow, hung with colourful masks and paintings of mountain scenes and temples.

Kake visited on a Monday afternoon in July 2019. There were already two other customers when I arrived shortly after their opening time of 3pm, and three more were hot on my heels. No music was playing.

I only wanted a snack, so ordered the chatpate (£4.45) photo — a street-food dish based on savoury puffed rice. It was a large portion (larger than I really wanted), but never got boring to eat. The flavours were perfectly balanced between spicy, sour, and salty, and the finely chopped cucumber, tomato, and onion gave good textural contrast to the puffed rice. The latter did lose crispiness fairly quickly, so I wouldn't order this for takeaway.

Tap water came on request in a large carafe. No service charge was added to the bill.

Accessibility: A step to get in, and another step to the toilet.
