Pub/bar in Marylebone. According to its website, although it used to be part of the Larrik Inns chain it's now semi-independent.
The decor is themed around wood, lots of wood, with polished floorboards underfoot and various wooden tables, chairs, and benches spaced quite widely around the room. Large windows let in plenty of light, and there's a leather sofa and pair of armchairs at one side of the room. There's also a piano!
Kake visited on a Monday evening in July 2008. Two handpumps; one with the clip turned around and the other with Bombardier at £1.55/half. Sadly the Bombardier was very warm and tasted sour - though we had just had a week of extremely warm weather and this wasn't the only sour beer I tasted today.
There was music, at a level which would have been a little loud had I been attempting conversation with anyone. Service wasn't unfriendly. Newspapers were laid neatly out on one of the tables for the perusal of customers. The place was empty when I arrived around 5:30pm, though a large group arrived shortly afterwards.
They do food, though I'm not sure of the times; a "specials" blackboard on my visit advertised cream of mushroom soup at £5.50, roast beef melt at £8.50, and elderflower jelly at £4.50.
The outside seating visible in the photo on this page was not in evidence during my visit.
Accessibility: Step-free access to the bar and seating area; didn't check the toilets though.
