Pub in Earlsfield.

Entry is into a bar area with mainly high stool seating, though a couple of normal-height tables lurk in the corners. Further in is a pleasant conservatory-style dining room with slatted blinds, which on our Monday lunchtime visit had around two thirds of its tables ready-laid with wine glasses, napkins, and cutlery. Finally at the very back is an outdoor decking area with picnic benches. Varnished wood and painted brickwork feature heavily in the decor, with colours a mix of dark grey and light grey-green.

Kake visited on a Monday lunchtime in September 2019. I was the only customer at their opening time of noon, but others arrived while I was there, and by 12:15pm there were five of us in the dining area and three in the bar area. Music was playing quietly, and a flatscreen in the dining area was showing Sky News with subtitles on and sound off.

There was just one ale clipped on the handpumps: Sambrook's Wandle. A pint of lime and soda was £1.50. Service was friendly and helpful.

According to the Jolly Gardeners website as of September 2019, food is served noon-3pm and 6pm-9:30pm Mon-Sat, and noon-5pm Sun.

Fishcake with steamed spinach and cream sauce (£9) photo was a decent amount for a light lunch. The fishcake had a pleasantly loose texture but still held together well enough, and had some nice browning on the exterior. The cream sauce had a good flavour but was a little thin, making it drippier than ideal. There was plenty of spinach, and it was well-prepared, not gritty at all.

Accessibility: Two steps to get in. A tiny step (more of a ridge) to the dining area and a step from there to the garden. No steps to the toilets once you're in.
