Frydays, SW16 4BU

Fish and chip restaurant in Norbury. It also does grilled fish, burgers, jacket potatoes, omelettes, Jamaican patties, and so on.

It's long and narrow, with a takeaway counter along the right-hand side as you enter. Opposite this is an exposed-brick feature wall flanked by a line of glass-topped wooden tables. The floor is slate-style tiles, and lighting is provided by a combination of recessed spotlights and pendant lamps with interestingly-curved shades.

There are seats for around 26 people, mainly at tables for four, though there's one larger to seat six. Table service and BYOB are available for those eating in.

bob visited on a Tuesday evening in June 2016 and had the regular cod meal (£8.50 including chips and salad) photo. The fish wasn't overcooked, and flaked nicely photo. The batter was crisp. The chips were good quality, and well-cooked; crispy on the outside and soft in the middle. The salad was fresh and tasty.

Child-friendliness: They have at least one highchair. There's a children's menu with half a dozen choices, though only one vegetarian (egg and chips).

Accessibility: A ramp to get in. No steps to the toilet, which is big enough for a wheelchair but has no handrails.
