Duke Of York, W1S 1AF

Busy Taylor Walker pub near Bond Street, just south of Oxford Street.

It's dominated by a spiral staircase slap bang in the middle of the pub, leading to more seats upstairs. Otherwise, the decor is fairly standard for the chain.

Kat visited on a Thursday evening in September 2014. The downstairs area was busy with after-work drinkers, and there were enough people stood on the pavement outside to make getting to the door annoying, but there were plenty of seats available upstairs. A reasonably well-kept pint of Long Man Copper Hop was £4.05 (Doom Bar and Taylor Walker's own 1730 Ale were also on the pumps).

According to the website, food is served all day until 10pm (9pm Sundays).

Kat's verdict: Unspectacular but perfectly fine for a quick pint.
