Craft beer pub in Limehouse, part of a small chain.

It's perched on a corner right next to Limehouse Station, and the squealing of wheels on rails can be heard frequently overhead. Large windows on two sides have simple stained-glass detailing, old advertising mirrors hang on the exposed brickwork of the terrace wall, and wooden boards lie underfoot. Swing-top bottles of tap water sit ready on the tables, with water glasses stacked up on the bar.

Seating is a mix of low and high chairs, along with a couple of sofas. On the first floor is another room which seats another 30ish people and gives access to a small roof terrace.

Kake and bob visited on a Friday evening in October 2018. It was quite full at 5:30pm, with only one small table free on the ground floor. '90s grunge was playing, barely audible over the sound of conversation.

Five of the six handpumps were clipped, offering Hopcraft Keep Me Away From A Naked Flame, Hopcraft Temple Of Love, Holler Um-Bonko, Stancill Porter, and the house pale ale (brewed by Kent Brewery). All were priced by strength, ranging from £4.35/pint for <4% (Temple Of Love and the house pale) to £4.55/pint for 4-5% (the other three).

According to the Craft Beer Co website as of October 2018, food is served 5:30pm-10:30pm Mon-Fri, noon-10:30pm Sat, and noon-9:30pm Sun.

Mushroom and smoked cheddar dip (£6) photo was fine, but the smokiness wasn't particularly apparent and the accompanying pitta chips photo were a little oilier than ideal to go with such a rich dip.

Fried chicken (£6.50) photo was made with breast meat and hence was dry and flavourless, and the batter added only crunch, no flavour.

Padron peppers (£5) photo were probably the best of the small plates, though this is a dish that's hard to get wrong — they were fried and salted an appropriate amount, and although the accompanying chipotle aioli wasn't really necessary, it did have a nice kick.

bob's main of battered smoked haddock and chips (£14.50) photo worked pretty well; the smoked fish wasn't at all dry, and it made a nice change from standard fish and chips. The chips were skin-on, and fine, though given the saltiness of the smoked haddock it might have been better for the kitchen not to have pre-salted them.

Accessibility: A shallow step at the front entrance, and a larger one at the side entrance. Two steps to the gents' toilets and three to the ladies' (inside the door in both cases).
