Pub in Marylebone.
It's quite a small pub, sitting on the corner of a back alley near Marble Arch Station. The interior is dominated by the horseshoe-shaped bar, with banquette seating around the walls as well as some half-height back-to-back benches on a dais next to the large front windows. Several flatscreens are arranged around the room; quite a lot of them for such a small pub.
The floorboards are bare, but clean and in good condition. One feature wall is covered with carpentry-themed wallpaper, and various saws and other tools hang on the walls photo. The entrance features some lovely mosaic tiling photo.
There are six handpumps on the bar. On our June 2007 visit they all had different real ales on, all interesting, and bob considered the Harveys Sussex Best (£2.70/pint) to be very drinkable. On our January 2014 visit there were only four ales on: Cotleigh Kiwi, Cottage Brewery Polar Express, Harveys Sussex Best, and Marstons Pedigree. In January 2014, a pint of Stowford Press cider was a pleasingly reasonable £3.80, and a half of Coke was £1.40.
On bob's Saturday afternoon visit in June 2007, the pub was very busy with lots of people watching the rugby on TV. It was also relatively busy on our Sunday afternoon visit in January 2014, again with a fair few people watching sport, but our group of eight managed to grab a table under one of the TVs.
