Historical version 3 of Taste Of Lewisham, SE13 5LD (view current version)

Sri Lankan restaurant and takeaway in Lewisham.

bob, Martin and Phil visited on a Thursday night in October 2009. There were several people in already but there was still plenty of space. They can probably seat about 50 people.

We started with masala vada (£1.25 for two), lamb spring rolls (£1.50 for two), and chilli chicken (£4). All of these were pretty good.

For our mains we had spicy lamb curry (£4.75), special non-veg masala dosa (£4.50), chicken kurma (£4), and idiyappam lamb kothu (£4). These were all quite good. We asked for some more sauce for the kothu and were asked if we wanted normal or spicy — of course went for spicy. The member of staff then went on to make sure we really wanted this, warning us that the spicy version really was very hot; they normally only serve it to Sri Lankans. It was well within our tolerances, but then again we really like Sri Lankan food. We accompanied all this with plain rice (£2).

Phil also had the honey and banana parotta (£2), which was interesting. Tap water was provided on request.
