BAA market Stansted Airport as London's third airport, but at 40 miles from the centre, the non-BAA airports City, Biggin Hill and Luton are actually closer. Stansted has a single terminal, with a direct rail connection to Liverpool Street Station, trains taking 46 minutes, departing every 15 minutes on weekdays.
Stansted mainly serves Eurpean destinations, and feels as crowded and stressful as BAA's other London airports. Ryanair and easyJet both use Stansted as a major hub.
