Hidden away, the Roxy is generally not a place where people start off their drinking, hence its favourable happy hour offers and the ability to book spaces for large parties after work. A Friday evening visit in May 2008 saw the place almost empty at 6pm, though by 8pm it had become livelier. At this point, the comfortable leather furniture and low wooden tables started to get cleared away for the dancefloor to take over. House wine was perfectly drinkable if not particularly remarkable.
