Positively 4th Street was a New York style bar near Euston. As of September 2011, Fancyapint reports that it's "closed and stripped back to the brick work". We don't know if it's going to reopen.

The information below is retained for people who want to know what it used to be like.

This place bills itself as a "New York bar in London" outside, and is not too far from Euston Station on a lonely stretch of Hampstead Road.

Needless to say, on a Friday evening visit in March 2008, the place was completely packed. There are booths seating 4-6 along one side and the bar on the other, as well as a little ante-room at the back where the door to the toilets are, and a lonely couch near the front door. Decor is a colourful mix of art deco stylisation, and japanoiserie (they serve Japanese food in the evenings, from 5pm-9:30pm Monday to Friday, which seemed to be popular and looked very good, though we didn't try it).

There are no ales on pump (only Tetley's bitter), but Leffe (£2.40/half-pint) and Hoegaarden (£2.20/half-pint) and all the usual lagers. They do a standard list of cocktails (for around £7 or 8), and have a happy hour until 7pm.

On some evenings they have club nights in the small basement, and on our visit live acoustic music.
