Randomness Guide to London - Differences between Version 9 and Version 8 of Loughborough Junction Station

Version 9 Version 8

Comment by [[secretlondon]] This really isn't a nice area, and I say this as a semi-local. "many years ago" about 5? The line closes really early. It's the roughest bit of Camberwell by miles. I agree that we need references though.

Zone 2 rail station between Brixton and Camberwell.

This is NOT a nice area to wait around in: a number of the businesses and pubs in this area have been closed over the last few years due to crime and drug-related activities.

Comment added by Anonymous: this is rubbish - they have closed because of lack of business and not because of any crime. The area is pretty quiet really and in the 5 or 6 years I have lived here I have never seen any or felt in the slightest bit threatened. Nice pub up Herne Hill Road opposite and then a left turn a little up the road down Kemerton Road called the cambria - nice crowd, good food and drink.

Comment added by Anonymous: Just to add also - lovely park up Herne Hill Road and then turn left called Ruskin Park and good train link into Blackfriars and City Thameslink or down to Sutton, Wimbledon and Brighton. Easily in reach of Herne Hill and Brockwell Park, Camberwell, and Dulwich. Fair few decent primary schools - the best with really good results being in the middle of the estate! I would be interested to know where your information about Loughborough Junction not being a nice place to be from. Have you ever been there?

Comment added by Anonymous: Sorry - I meant I would love to know where your information came from. Its true that some of the pubs that were in the area did close down many years ago - the junction, the green man and the mucky duck but that was a long time ago and the area is really quite quiet now - not that I should broadcast that to the masses - we like it as it is and don't want those that don't know to know really.

Comment added by Kake: I'd like to know where it came from too - looks like Ewan added it. Thank you for the suggestions! I've added the Cambria to my to-do list... One thing to note; we don't usually keep discussion threads around very long on here, since once a discussion is resolved we prefer to summarise the information and remove the discussion, so you might want to subscribe to our blog to keep up to date with RGL-related things.
