Despite the three handpulls there hasn't always been real ale, though on a visit in December 2008 they had Harvey's Sussex Best on one. There's also a fairly limited selection of beers. The house wine isn't particularly good.
However, it still manages to be a great pub. It has retained a lot of the traditional decoration, and in particular has a fantastic back room with a stage area under a proscenium arch and gold lame curtains. As such, it puts on live music (in particular, Hugh Metcalfe's bonkers club night, the [http://www.iotacism.com/klinkerizer/index.shtml Klinker club], at which you can never be sure what to expect), as well as doing salsa and disco nights (the proprietor has kept Beer In The Evening up-to-date with details of these). There's also a separate room with pool tables, and a beer garden out the back.

However, it still manages to be a great pub. It has retained a lot of the traditional decoration. Wooden panelling announces the names of all the old Trumans beers, and an open fire keeps the main room toasty and warm in winter. There's also a fantastic back room with a stage area under a proscenium arch and gold lamé curtains which puts on live music of all varieties (including Hugh Metcalfe's bonkers club night, the [http://www.iotacism.com/klinkerizer/index.shtml Klinker club], at which you can never be sure what to expect), as well as doing salsa and disco nights (the proprietor has kept Beer In The Evening up-to-date with details of these).
I only hope that if it's under new management, they can improve the beer situation.
