* Go to the <a href="scripts/pubsearch.cgi">Pub Search page</a>. * Select "King's Cross St Pancras Station" in the Tube station drop-down list (leave the "500m" drop-down box as it is, or select a different option if you're willing to walk a bit further). * Click to select the "In the Good Beer Guide" box. * Click "Search". * Below the search form, you'll now see all the Good Beer Guide pubs within that radius of King's Cross, with brief summaries of any specific features they have. Look at those pages for more details, and choose the one you prefer! * Send your friend a link to the page of the pub you've chosen. The (map), (gmap), and (multimap) links near the top of the page will help them navigate. * To find a good route to the pub from your own home or workplace, scroll to the bottom of the pub's page, put your postcode in the box where it tells you to, and click "Show". It'll display three links which you can follow to get directions: WalkIt will give you walking directions, Journeyplanner will give you public transport directions from Transport For London, and Gmaps will give you whatever it feels like at the time. |

Put "200" in the "metres" box", tick the "show them on a map" checkbox (and "use larger map markers" too if you like), then click "Search". * You'll be presented with a Google Map which has blue markers for places that do Indian food, and red markers for places that serve real ale. Zoom in and pan the map to your preferred area, and click on the markers to get links to the RGL pages with all the details of each place. |

This is a start at a guided tour of what RGL can do. It's a work in progress.
A friend is passing through London via King's Cross station, and has a couple of hours free to meet up with you for a beer. You're both fans of real ale, so you decide to look for a pub near the station that's in CAMRA's Good Beer Guide.
- Go to the page for King's Cross St Pancras Station.
- At the bottom, where it gives you a drop-down list for Find all things within 500 metres of here, click Go.
