Pub in the City. It's been in the Good Beer Guide a few times.
The beer appears to be well-kept. At least, the Directors was very pleasant in August 2008.
On DrHyde's August 2008 visit, although it was 6pm on a working day the service from the well-staffed bar was quick, it was busy but not over-crowded, and was refreshingly free of City vermin. Instead it seems to attract a crowd of people who do real work in the area, as well as clergy and the like from St Paul's Cathedral which is very close.
May 2021 Update: Very quiet on a post-lockdown afternoon so needs customers to come back. At that stage they only had Tribute on but it was in good nick. Same publican (and decor I think) for 30 years, so looks a little tired. As above, still a pub for workers not suits. Friendly, chatty staff.
Ladies' toilet is upstairs, gents' in the basement (steep stairs).
