This café, which opened on 26 May 2010 on the site of the old Honest Foods veggie restaurant, serves simple but high quality cafe food, artisanal bread and a selection of single-variety ciders, perries and apple juices (also mead). They do a large full English breakfast for £8.50, vegetarian breakfast for £5.50, eggs benedict, eggs florentine, and hemp porridge as well as daily specials (prices as of July 2010). The apple-derived drinks all seem to come from a single source, Hecks Farmhouse in Somerset, but are none the worse for that.

On a Sunday lunch visit in July 2010, itsbruce had cannellini beans in spicy tomato sauce on sourdough toast with sausages. The presentation was simple but the food was very well flavoured and the sausages were excellent. My companion had the eggs florentine and was equally pleased with the results. The accompanying apple juices were delicious; coffee to close was also very good. A very pleasant lunch for two came to £14.45.

On a follow-up Friday evening visit in the same month, itsbruce found the catering a little disorganised but it was also a pleasant visit. They currently aren't serving hot food in the evenings but cold tortilla and fresh salad were on offer and a series of courtesy bruschetta plates were brought to the table (toppings were varied and all very tasty). The ciders are £1.90 for a half-pint glass or £3.40 for a litre bottle. We sampled the Kingston Black (a clear, mellow cider) in both still and sparkling varieties, the Yarlington Mill (fruity) and the Port Wine of Glastonbury (heavy, spicy and sweet). Since the ciders were all around 7% ABV, we stopped there.

It's a small venue with seating for around 20 people inside and 4 in a narrow space out front. Closing times seem to be unpredictable as they do private functions.
