| [[Category Young's|Young's]] pub in [[Locale Westminster|Westminster]]. One of only five pubs to appear in all 45 editions of the [[Category Good Beer Guide|Good Beer Guide]] up to 2018. It was refurbished in 2008, and so is a much nicer pub now — a good mix of traditional wood and glass with contemporary bits, like dark wooden stools and an attractively wallpapered ceiling at the back. The kitchen has also been improved so the menu contains less fried things. There seems to be a weekly specials menu. |

On a visit in November 2008 the beers on were Young's Bitter (£2.75/pint), Young's Special, Young's Winter Warmer (£3.15) and Bombardier. Nobody tried the Bombardier, but all the rest were very drinkable, as you might expect from a pub of this pedigree. |
Food is nominally served all day every day until 9pm, but as of October 2007 they can only guarantee it at lunchtimes, due to staff shortages, so it's best to call ahead and check (this is likely to be a temporary situation). |

The food was okay. The sausage feast (£10) consisted of six okay sausages, chips, bread (which wasn't great) and three pickles — certainly enough to share as they suggest. It was about the right amount for [[bob]]. [[elvum]] had penne with bacon and chorizo in an arrabiata sauce, with garlic bread (£8, from a specials menu). This was certainly tasty, with very generous quantities of bacon and chorizo, although as [[Martin]] pointed out, it's the kind of food you could knock up yourself in twenty minutes. Overall, the food could probably be described as good, but not spectacular. |
The food choice is nothing particularly unusual, though they do now offer main course salads with four choices of topping (e.g. prawn and bacon; avocado and stilton; all £6). Sandwiches (all served on ciabatta) are £3.80; jacket potatoes are £4.20-£5.40; beef or veggie burger is £6. All day brunch is £6 for the meaty version and £5.20 for the veggie version.
