Albannach was a Scottish bar/restaurant on [[Locale Trafalgar Square|Trafalgar Square]]. It has now closed. The premises were [https://www.thecaterer.com/articles/351866/fuller-s-buys-albannach-in-trafalgar-square-london sold to Fuller's in early 2014], and opened in October 2014 as a Fuller's [[Category Fuller's Ale And Pie Houses|Ale & Pie]] pub called [http://www.admiraltytrafalgar.co.uk/ The Admiralty].
Albannach is a Scottish bar/restaurant on Trafalgar Square. The ground floor is a cocktail bar, with an enormous range of whiskies (ranging from ~£6 up to £760 per glass) and a good selection of whisky cocktails (about £10 each) - single malt purists would blanch, but they were tasty. Be aware that the house 12.5% service charge may be applied to drinks orders - this happened to us.

The information below is retained for historical purposes.
On a mezzanine above the bar is a restaurant, with about forty covers. The food is moderately pricey, but for the most part, extremely good. A foie gras terrine with mead jelly and apples (£13.50) was nearly perfect, with strong meaty flavours and textures combining well with the sweetness of the accompaniments. The trio of North Sea cured fish was also good overall - the tea & whisky cured salmon and smoked mackerel pate were both excellent; the sardine esceveche a little flavourless by comparison. For mains, we had the loin of highland venison (£23) - extremely tasty, but needs to be ordered rare. The rib-eye of Buccleuch beef was a fantastic steak, just about worth the £24 it cost, and the dauphinois potatoes it came with were the perfect accompaniment. From the dessert menu, the Scottish cheeses were a well-kept selection of good cheeses - the cheddar was particularly unctuous. Sadly, the chocolate mousse (with raspberry coulis and creme chantilly) was a big disappointment, with virtually no chocolate flavour. We were offered complimentary champagne when we declined to order coffee (without having complained about anything), so on the whole the Albannach dining experience is still highly recommended. Three courses with wine came to £120, including the 12.5% service charge.

Toilets are in the basement, alongside the "Doon" bar/nightclub (so called because it's "doonstairs").
