[[bob]] and others visited at about 13:00 on a Thursday in July. While inside was mostly the beer garden was already quite busy. We did manage to find a table outside though. The beer garden has about 20 picnic tables. The seating int the bar is alcovey and mostly fixed. The bar is quite dark.
 Busy on a Tuesday evening. Hobgoblin was okay.

This was a very well cooked piece of haddock and some very good and large chips with their skins still on although they were pre-salted. Even the mushy peas must have been good since I ate them. The others had a chicken sandwich(£8)<small>[http://www.flickr.com/photos/rjw1/4773930067/in/set-72157624344292869/ photo]</small> and a Steak Sandwich(£9)<small>[http://www.flickr.com/photos/rjw1/4774569278/in/set-72157624344292869/ photo]</small>. The steak was not overcooked and of a decent size and still quite juicy.

A pint of lemonade and lime was £3. [[bob]] also had a decent pint of [http://www.caledonian-brewery.co.uk/ales_nectar.htm Caledonian Nectar]. There was one other real ale available.

As well as the standard [http://www.flickr.com/photos/rjw1/4774567898/in/set-72157624344292869/ menu] there were 4 daily specials on a chalk board next to the kitchen. The kitchen is open Mon-Fri 12:00-15:30 & 17:00-22:00, Sat 12:00-22:00, Sun 12:00-21:00
