Decent enough Italian restaurant on the [[Locale South Bank|South Bank]]. Previously known as Riviera, but renamed to The Wharf in early 2010; according to an email from the management of The Wharf, it's the same restaurant, just a different name.

Decent enough Italian restaurant on the South Bank.

bob and family visited on a Sunday afternoon in October 2009. We turned up at about 12:50pm and there were plenty of tables inside and out. While we were there it filled up quite quickly. The restaurant is on two floors. They can seat about 70 people inside and 30 people outside.

We started our meal with a bread basket (£3) and some marinated olives (£2.25). These were both okay. Then we moved on to starters. The tiger prawns (£6.50) photo were quite good. bob had the bruschetta (£4.50) photo. This was okay but the salad was a little tired. The risotto (£5.45) photo was competently cooked. The garlic bread with cheese (£4) photo was very garlicky and cheesy.

A pretty decent lasagne (£9.45) photo was served quite hot. The grilled fish of the day (sea bass; £15) photo was cooked just about right. The linguine al pesto (£10) was very tasty. The linguine arabbiata (£9) was served al dente and was quite tasty although bob could only detect the merest hint of chilli flavour.

Desserts were mediocre. The apple pie (£4.55) photo pastry was a bit cakey and the filling lacked flavour. The profiteroles (£5) photo were drowned in chocolate cream. The passion cake (£4.65) photo was fine. A bowl of vanilla ice cream was £3.80.

Bottles of Coke were £2, a shot of Bacardi was £2.25, 1L of still water was £3.65, a large Peroni was £5.95 and a small Peroni was £3.30.

Accessibility: Toilets are upstairs. Entry to the ground floor is flat from the riverbank.
