The Victoria Inn (formerly the Wishing Well) is a large pub in SE15. Formerly known as the Wishing Well, it was renovated and reopened in spring 2010, and is now a Capital Pub Company pub.
The interior is comfortable, with floorboards, armchairs and sofas, and old books lining the walls. It has a large back room with a scattering of different-sized tables, as well as outdoor seating on the pavement.
There is a good range of beers on tap, including Meantime Pale Ale and London Pride, although pints are fairly expensive for the area (£3.70 for Meantime in June 2010). The wine list is international and ranges from £15-£30, or £30-£50 for fizz.
The menu is European fusion and is quite good; particular favourites were the chorizo scotch egg [http://www.flickr.com/photos/55935853@N00/4672585924/>pic]and the good-sized hamburger. Vegetarian options are clearly marked, printed in green with a "V" beside them, and include tasty breaded halloumi sticks with parmesan cauliflower puree. Prices for mains are £6-10.
It is quiet and pleasant during the day but gets very busy in the evenings, particularly when students from the Camberwell College of Arts up the road pour in on school nights.
