One of a small chain of North African/French cafes in Tooting and Balham. This one is near Tooting Broadway Station and St George's Hospital.

secretlondon has been many times for a morning coffee. The coffee is very good but the service is often poor as the same person serving the coffee queue is also running the cafe. I have been in the queue when they have left the counter to go and serve sitting customers and I've heard complaints that food is getting cold as they haven't taken it to the table.

I had one very bad experience which made me 10 minutes late for work. I'd finally got to the front of the queue but the staff member was called away to make orange juice. They didn't start the coffee making whilst they were feeding oranges to a machine, they didn't seem able to multitask. They then only made me a small coffee and when I raised this they topped it up with hot water, giving me dilute small coffee in a large cup, not a large one. It's quite common for people to walk out because of the queue.

secretlondon's verdict: Their coffee is lovely, as are their pastries. If there's no or a small queue I thoroughly recommend them. If there's a queue of more than two or three people don't bother.
