Not been in here yet, but it looks quite nice; it had a board inside advertising Belgian beers (Duvel, Fruli, etc) and another board with what looked like a fairly large range of food (see photo of menu on Flickr). I didn't actually go inside, but it has large plate glass windows looking on to the eastbound platform of Kew Gardens Station, and I had a squint inside while I was waiting about 300 years for my train to arrive.

It has some outside seating, some of which is covered with a large parasol/umbrella.

A sign seen outside in July 2008 advertised breakfast, food served all day, free wireless, and fairtrade coffee.

Pub Explorer gives food times as 11am-10pm Monday to Saturday, and noon-10pm Sunday.

Comment added by Kake: Greene King IPA, Bombardier, Adnams bitter. I had a pint of Addlestones cider at 3.10. I asked about the Belgian beer but they don't do that any more ("Stella and Leffe only...")

Menu says food served noon-9pm daily.

Nice conservatory with huge arched ornate skylight and floor-to-ceiling picture windows looking directly onto the eastbound platform of Kew Gardens Station. Sign says children welcome in conservatory until 7pm. Medium step up to get into conservatory from outside but you'd also have to squeeze past all the outdoor tables to get in that way.

Comment added by Kake: Step up at the other entrance too. Toilets down a flight of stairs.

Background music is pretty bland but not loud enough to be annoying. There are a fair number of customers and most outside seats are taken, but no problem finding a table inside.

Chips 1.75, onion rings 1.50, nachos to share 5.25. Starters are between 3.25 (e.g. Soup of the day, breaded mushrooms) and 4.25 (crispy garlic king prawns). Sandwiches (four options of bread type) are 3.50 (cheddar with red onion jam) and 5.00 (rump steak with red onions, mushrooms, and mustard mayo). Rump steak is 8.25 for 8oz and 13.25 for 16oz, sirloin is 9 for 8oz. Mains all around 6-7 quid, e.g. Mussels with chips and bread (6-6.25); half a roast chicken with chips-or-mash, peas, and gravy (6.25); pork cooked in Kentish cider served with mash, carrots and peas (6.75). Veg options are spinach and mushroom lasagne and porcini raviloi, both 6.25.
