Historical version 7 of Starbucks, NW3 2PT (view current version)

[Adam S]? says: Located on South End Road, Hampstead close to Hampstead Heath station this Starbucks was a bit of a change from the ordinary.

You may notice from the street that it is in fact double-fronted and as you walk in it is certainly a lot larger than you may expect from the traditionally cosy chains. In a sunken area at the back there are some oddly arranged arm chairs, some without tables so you have no choice but to lean over people to rest your drink. The lighting in this area did follow along the Starbucks vein of bordering-on-difficult-to-read levels of dimness. Above this there are plenty of tables and in the window some more sofas which are lighter. Outdoors are about 5 or 6 tables.

The staff were very friendly and helpful (with directions) and the coffee was as good as Starbucks ever is with the usual array of hot and cold espresso based drinks as well as juice blends and very nice Tazo teas. The prices, as you'd expect are fairly steep but you are able to customise your drink and when I went in at around 2pm on a Tuesday it was fairly empty at the desk but with plenty of people sitting around.
