Historical version 1 of Rump, SW15 1SL
Steak restaurant and bar in Putney.
A bar area in front with a restaurant at the back.
Martin, bob and Phil visited on a Thursday night in May. When we turned up there were several tables available by the time we left it was full in the restaurant section. The menu is quite brief and is all about Steaks and burgers. Vegetarians have a choice of 1 starter and 1 main which both consist of halloumi. We skipped starters and went Straight for steaks since we wanted to get back for another pint at the Bricklayers Arms which is just round the corner. Phil and bob both went for 14oz fillet(£21.95)photo, photo. bob's was cooked perfectly blue. Phil felt his was bit overdone in places. We suspect this was mainly because it was quite thick. Martin went for a 21oz rump(£24.95)photo. We had a selection of sides which were all pretty good.(All @ £1.95)photo, photo. The peppercorn sauce (£1) was adequate. The harissa mayo(£1) was almost hot enough for bob. We were tempted by the dessert menu. bob had the apple and blackberry pie(£4.95)photo which was served with ice cream as the pie topping. bob enjoyed it. Phil was less happy with his apple crumble(£4.95) photo. He felt it should have come with custard instead of Ice Cream. Notable we weren't given the option.
