A pub opposite the Royal Free Hospital in Hampstead.

Visiting on a Sunday afternoon when other pubs in the area were quite packed, the Roebuck seemed strangely empty. Quite possibly, the main pub space can seem too dark and unwelcoming, though they've done their best with it. However, out back is a fabulous beer garden (with BBQ area) and plenty of foliage and tables large and small, as well as a conservatory area attached to it which gets plenty of sun.

Bar staff are very friendly. Bar snacks (the usual staples: tiffin mix, chilli nuts, wasabi peanuts, etc.) hang in jars off the wall beside the bar, and customers are welcome to try them before buying.

Real ales on handpump are London Pride (£2.85/pint) and Adnam's Bitter, as well as one other which on a visit in June 2008 was empty.

They advertise a quiz night on Tuesdays at 8pm, with a £2 entry.
