Yoshino is actually spread over two sites, on opposites sides of Piccadilly.

The Restaurant is down a side alley next to Le Meridean Hotel. It's only small, so it's worth booking at weekends. It's very traditional and formal, and the sushi is wonderful quality. It's also a bit expensive, even for sushi in London.

The first time I went, the menus terrified me. I'm not sure if it's a traditional way of doing it, but rather than a list of food items they have a series of diagrams showing a plate with (say) three sections on it, then a list of items that you can have in each of those three sections. The fish is wonderful, though, as is the sake (huge range).

The other Yoshino site is the deli in the basement of the Japan Centre. It's quite common to see trays of sushi being taken out of the restaurant and over to the deli.

If you fancy a Japanese overdose, try Minamoto Kitchoan for pudding.

The Yoshino website is almost entirely useless.
