Food-led pub in Highgate, which had a change of management and a complete refurbishment in April/May 2007 (so don't put too much store in reviews written prior to that).

Inside there are tables around the front for drinking, though those towards the rear beer garden seem to be intended for dining, and table service is offered. There are beer gardens at front and back. As of Summer 2010, they offer a whole roasted lamb for private parties in the back garden — see Will Eat For Money writeup.

Food is served noon-10pm every day. Ewan has visited twice in 2011 and has greatly enjoyed the food on both visits. The menu, reprinted daily, always has plenty of interest. Grilled Portobello mushrooms with taleggio cheese (£6) were an excellent starter. Ewan tried the roast poussin with hand cut chips for a main (£12.50), and it was a substantial size with plenty of very tender meat.

The drinks menu focuses on the wines (as well as an extensive whisky list), though they still offer four handpulls for ale, with a couple of regular Greene King presences as well as occasional interesting guest ales.

An advert in the July 2010 issue of the Full Pint newsletter states that children and dogs are welcome.
