Historical version 4 of Red Lion, W5 5RA (view current version)

A large, popular Fullers pub opposite Ealing Studios, in the Good Beer Guide.

The food is excellent, although not cheap (£10-15 for a main course as of March 2007); evening dishes might include slow-roasted lamb shank with thyme and red wine, served with root vegetable mash; fish stew with halibut, prawns, mussels, and coriander; root vegetable and mixed bean stew with herb mash; or confit of duck with sauteed new potatoes, green beans, and caramelised onion gravy. The night we were there the menu comprised seven meat dishes, four fish, and two vegetarian. Food served lunchtimes (noon-3pm) and evenings, not all day (Billy, can you confirm evening times?).

Four well-kept Fullers ales on tap, and a longish wine list. A pint of Pride was £2.60 (March 2007).

Local CAMRA Pub of the Year 2002–04.
