The food here has usually been good, although there has been a fairly high turnover of chefs during the last few years. On a June 2008 visit by elvum, Bob and Martin, the Thai mixed starter platter (£9.50) was quite good, with a generous selection of dumplings, spring rolls, barbecue pork and satay chicken kebabs and prawn crackers. The latter were a little greasy and there was no satay sauce, but everything was tasty. Thai red chicken curry (£7ish) was also quite good, although a purist might find fault with the use of western vegetables (courgettes and peas). The steak was described by one of our party as "a little thin", and was cooked medium when requested rare.

In December 2008 they were having a belgian and german beer festival and on a Friday night this meant there was a very limited menu of german food.

There is a function room available for hire, big enough for 60 people. A booking form perused by elvum suggested that room hire was £80, with £40 on top for a late license, and that a buffet could be provided for £8 a head.

In June 2008, signs above the bar announced an "upstairs lounge" that was "coming soon".
