The interior is divided into a front bar and a back seating area; both are quite nice. The back area [http://www.flickr.com/photos/kake_pugh/3907526911/ photo] has a conservatory-style roof to let the light in during the day. There's also a beer garden out the back.
Food is served lunchtimes and on Tuesday evenings.

[[Kake]] visited on a Thursday lunchtime in September 2009. Real ales available were Gales Seafarers, London Pride, and HSB. I tried the Seafarers and it was fine. Lime and soda was 80p/pint. There were about five other people in, so plenty of places to sit. Music was playing, not too loud, and relatively recent stuff.

According to a menu seen in September 2009, food is served noon-2pm and 6pm-9pm every day [http://www.flickr.com/photos/kake_pugh/3907411233/sizes/l/ menu photo 1], [http://www.flickr.com/photos/kake_pugh/3907413925/sizes/l/ menu photo 2]. They also have specials which are written up on a board, for example minced steak and onion pie.

I went for a dish from the regular menu, the cod and pancetta fishcakes with salad, coleslaw, and tzatziki (£6.50) [http://www.flickr.com/photos/kake_pugh/3907554831/ photo] (tzatziki not pictured). From their slightly irregular shape, the fishcakes certainly seemed to have been made in-house rather than bought in. There was just the right amount of pancetta, and the texture was dominated by nice big chunks of cod rather than excessive amounts of mashed potato. However, those chunks of cod were a little overcooked, and the fishcakes themselves were slightly greasy (perhaps the oil wasn't quite hot enough). The salad dressing was a little too sharp, and possibly from a bottle, but the coleslaw tasted fresh and vegetably rather than overly mayonnaisey. The tzatziki was a bit runny, but it was well-seasoned, and they'd bothered to peel the cucumber. Overall, I was pleased with the dish, and was happy I'd chosen it.

Accessibility: Two steps up to get in. Once you're in, it's step-free to the bar, seating area, and ladies' (gents not checked).
