Note: According to the Aug/Sep 2021 London Drinker, the Perry Hill reopened in April 2021 after a refurbishment and change of operator. We haven't visited since, and so some or all of the details below may be out of date; see for example [https://pickyglutton.com/2021/10/04/perry-hill-pub-review-barbecue/ The Picky Glutton's review] for a more recent assessment.
There's plenty of space in this pub, which has a bar room at the front, a dining room behind the bar, and a large beer garden area. At lunchtime on a Tuesday, the place wasn't too quiet with a handful of guests, there were newspapers out, and bar service was friendly. There is car parking out the front.

It spent some time as a gastropub around 2008-2010 (see earlier version of this page) but as of 2016 it's food-free aside from the occasional barbecue in the garden.
Two ales on pump, though on the June 2008 Pride was off, leaving only Bombardier (£1.40/half).

This spacious, airy, bare-boarded pub appears to once have had a division into at least two separate bars, but has now been opened up into a single large space. However, pillars here and there, along with the remains of the old interior walls, make sure there are still some cosy corners to hide away in.
Lunch is served noon-3pm Monday to Friday, and noon-4pm Saturday. Dinner is served 6pm-10pm Monday to Saturday. Food is served all day Sunday. Food covers a range of options, which on the lunch menu were all priced between £7.25 (for the burger) to £13.50 (for the steak). There was one vegetarian main option, the mushroom aranccini (mushroom risotto, crumbed and deep-fried, £9.95, but also available as a starter for £5.95), very tasty indeed, served with crisp fresh leafy salad and a mild tomato salsa. The food came very promptly and was well-presented.

One side of the pub looks onto the beer garden, and has a large skylight letting in more illumination. The other side, around the horseshoe bar, is less well-lit and dominated by a pool table.

Kake visited on a Wednesday lunchtime in August 2016. There was one other customer when I arrived a little after their opening time of noon. No music was playing, but a quiz show was on the flatscreen with the sound on.

Although they do have handpumps on the bar, at the time of our visit they were strongly considering stopping real ale altogether as it wasn't selling. A pint of lime and soda was 40p.

According to a sign seen in August 2016, there's a pub quiz every Tuesday.

Accessibility: A large step to get in. Once you're in, there's no steps to the ladies' (gents' not checked), but it's a bit cramped in there. Several steps to the garden.
