A café-bar-restaurant in Streatham Hill.

An open space with large windows looking across Streatham High Road. There’s a bar on one side, and a food/coffee/tea counter at the back. Seats about 60, mostly inside, some out on the pavement. Inside some sofas and armchairs with lowish tables, otherwise normal chairs and tables.

Rowley Birkin QC visited on a Saturday in May 2019. About 30 other customers in mid-afternoon, and early evening there were 10-15. Staff friendly. Rowley had an espresso and a tea, both fine. He didn't try the food. Some pop music was playing; although it wasn’t too loud, he found it irritating.

There is WiFi, which is open though you have to supply an email address and phone (but these can be fake). However, it kept dropping out, so the place doesn’t really qualify as laptop friendly.

Accessibility: a step of about 10 cm to get in, otherwise level.

Child-friendliness: Some high chairs. No baby changing facilities in the gents. A few children, of various ages, were present in the mid-afternoon of Rowley's visit.

Transport: Bus stop outside, on several routes. Streatham Hill Station is a couple of minutes’ walk away.

Rowley's May 2019 verdict: a civilised place, good for dropping in if you want a coffee or something for half an hour or so.
