A nicely refurbished old Truman's pub just off Eltham High Street, complete with original tiling on the exterior.

Inside it's perfectly pleasant but on a bright sunny Saturday afternoon, the best feature was the excellently maintained beer garden, with plenty of tables and shade from the sun. Service is friendly.

Inside, there are four real ales on tap, which in May 2008 were Harvey's Sussex Best Bitter, Cumberland, Landlord and Flowers. Standard lagers, and a wine list (with a drinkable pinot grigio).

They serve food and on our visit had a daily lunch menu with a number of basic options, including (for vegetarians), the cheese & egg flan with sauteed potatoes and coleslaw (around £5), which was nothing amazing but absolutely fine, though unfortunately they'd run out of potatoes and had to offer chips to make up the plate.

It certainly seems like this is a good place for a drink in Eltham.
