Pub on Essex Road in Canonbury/Islington.

It's divided into two rooms inside, with three handpumps on each bar. One also has a piano. Tables are large and wooden, with flowers on in small vases.

On our Sunday afternoon visit as part of the September 2010 38 bus route pub crawl, there were three real ales on offer, duplicated on each bar; Moorhouse Black Cat, Westgate Sun Dance, and Keltek King. They also had Budvar on tap. Large screens in both rooms were showing football with the sound turned up loud.

As of September 2010, food is served noon-2:30pm and 5:30pm-10pm Mon-Fri; noon-10pm Sat; and noon-8pm Sun photo of menu. We tried a few pizzas photo, which were fairly thick crusted but not bad. Mussels with tomato, chilli, and basil (£6) photo were fine too, with plenty of chilli and basil; they came with a couple of slices of decent but very soft-crusted bread.

Accessibility: Can't remember if there was a step to get in. There's a step down inside the gents' toilet which is a bit of a surprise if you're not expecting it.
