Note: As of August 2010, the Mum's House website states that the shop has temporarily moved just around the corner to 78 Mannock Road, N22 6AA. We're not sure how long this state of affairs will last.

Burmese and Oriental supermarket located inside Plaza N22 photo at the south end of Wood Green near Turnpike Lane Station.

It really is tiny, taking up just one small unit of the mall, and little more than a hole-in-the-wall really. However, the shelves are packed with all kinds of interesting dried, canned, and bottled foodstuffs, including fried shredded fish, shrimp paste, tamarind paste, fried garlic, coconut jam, spice mixes, oils, vinegars, snacks (e.g. wasabi peas) and various noodles (instant and otherwise). There's also a freezer with fish and seafood as well as a number of ready-prepared frozen meals (e.g. biryani).

One of the shelf units holds specifically Burmese foods, and they also have a fridge which contains (among other things) the Burmese speciality of pickled tea — several kinds of pickled tea, in fact. The proprietor is friendly and helpful, and was happy to help Kake pick out a few Burmese things to try.

They don't take cards (not sure about cheques).

Accessibility: Level access to N22 Plaza from the street, and level access to Mum's House once you're in, though the shop really is very tiny and it's unlikely you'd get a wheelchair very far in.
