Now closed; used to be a licensed cafe in Brockley. Its last day of operation was New Year's Eve 2008.

According to Brockley Central, Royal Teas of Greenwich will be moving into the site; as of late March 2009 they're working on getting the paperwork sorted.

The information below is retained for people who want to know what it used to be like as Moonbow Jakes.

A licensed cafe in Brockley, between Brockley Station and Crofton Park Station.

As a local cafe, this is a nice one, with comfortable seating at predominantly large tables (so if you're a small group, you may have to share at busy times). The lighting is kept moodily dark, which makes reading the papers (the establishment provides a good little selection) somewhat difficult towards the back. However, the coffee is good and plentiful and there is food on offer (mostly salads and deli platters, as well as toasted sandwiches). Interestingly, their website implies that they will serve decaffeinated espresso and ristretto on request. They also carry (unsweetened) soya milk.

Moonbow Jakes is also licensed and stays open until 11pm, putting on live music events which are advertised on its website. The drinks list is also available on the website; it includes a couple of bottled bitters as well as the usual lagers, spirits, etc.

The service, unfortunately, is somewhat perfunctory, and you will have to ask at the counter to look at a menu.
