summary='Small pizza restaurant in Sydenham'

Pizza restaurant near Sydenham station, part of a small chain in South East London.

It's fairly small inside. The seating is a mix of small wooden tables and chairs, and longer tables with benches, with an open kitchen to the rear (which makes the space feel bigger). The window seats have a good view of the busy junction outside, if people-watching (or bus-watching) is your thing. As well as the pizza menu there's the usual Italian starters/desserts (cured meats, tiramasu etc) and an interesting selection of soft drinks, like homemade ginger ale. Gluten free and vegan options are available on request.

Kat and Rick visited on a Friday evening in May 2019. We hadn't booked, but were seated immediately (it was about half full at 7.15pm; several groups came in for takeaway orders while we were there). 00's pop music was playing, quietly enough to have an easy conversation but loud enough to identify "Yeah" by Usher ft Lil' Jon and Ludacris. Bottles of tap water were already on the table.

Some of the pizza names are musical puns (Rocket Ham, Brie My Baby and so on) though they've resisted with the classics (a margherita is still a margherita). Kat went for a 'Let It Goat' (goat cheese, walnuts, sundried tomatoes and courgettes, £12) which was nicely salty and pleasingly unusual. Rick enjoyed his Beatrice (butternut squash, rosemary, feta and pine nuts, £10) but felt the proportion of feta was maybe too high.

Kat's verdict: decent pizza, friendly staff. I'd definitely return.
