Harringay is an area of North London, within the London Borough of Haringey. It's roughly diamond-shaped, and centred on a fairly long and busy street called Green Lanes. The southern point of Harringay is roughly [[Manor House Station]] at the intersection of Green Lanes with Seven Sisters Road, and the northern point is roughly [[Turnpike Lane Station]], where Green Lanes turns into Wood Green High Road.

Green Lanes itself is along the lines of a local high street, with a number of Turkish ocakbasi (barbecue/grill) restaurants/cafes as well as various grocery shops and pound shops. The streets leading off to the west of it are mostly residential; highly rectilinear and bisected by an alleyway called Haringey Passage, they're known as the Harringay Ladder (see [http://blog.urbanomic.com/tome/archives/2005/09/colour_suppleme.html this obsessive blog post] on the subject, with many photos).
