Fuller's pub in Sutton.

Inside, there's a U-shaped seating area wrapped around the bar. One "arm" is a cosy snug-like area with the toilets at the back; the other leads out to a beer garden. Decor is traditional, cosy and clean, with a mix of carpeting and varnished floorboards. A skylight in the garden arm of the "U" ensures plenty of natural light. There's some seating out the front too, on a little patio enclosed from the street.

Kake visited on a Friday lunchtime in August 2012. The handpumps were clipped for five real ales: Chiswick, Discovery, ESB, London Pride, and Okells Bitter. They were also advertising English wines (though not fruit wines) by the bottle. A pint of lime and soda was £1.

When I arrived around 12:30pm, there were two or three other customers in and a few more arrived while I was there. Music was playing, though not too loud. Service was friendly and helpful.

According to their website as of August 2012, food is served noon-2:30pm, 5pm-9pm Mon-Sat; and noon-3:30pm, 5pm-9pm Sun (see photos of menus as of this date: page 1, page 2). Filled rolls (£1.80) were also available on my visit, displayed clingfilm-wrapped behind the bar.

Accessibility: A step to get in at both entrances, and I think more steps to the beer garden (though not 100% sure of the latter). There's a step between bar and toilets, and more steps behind the door to the loos, with a sturdy handrail on one side. The ladies' cubicles are up another step after this, though they're a decent size inside.

Kake's verdict: Worth the walk from the station.
